Lydia Vineyard Route — the ancient vines of old Lydia
An age-old winemaking tradition in the lands of ancient Lydia, beginning at Sardis.
The route runs through inland Manisa, the heart of ancient Lydia — Sart (ancient Sardis), Salihli, Alaşehir, Sarıgöl and Kula. With a viticultural history reaching back to the Lydian civilization, this basin is today the center of Turkey’s grape production.
Founded as a joint venture of seven producers, the route offers a more rural, untouched landscape than Urla; tastings take place amid the boundless vineyards of Lydian soil, in the company of the winegrowers themselves.
