Overview
We drive to Sardis, the ancient capital of the Lydian Kingdom and one of the Seven Churches of Revelation. You explore the magnificent Temple of Artemis, later converted into a Byzantine church, the restored Gymnasium, and one of the largest ancient synagogues of the Roman world — a reflection of the importance of the Jewish community in Sardis.
The day then continues to the Sobran Vineyards in Alaşehir, where lunch in the vines is followed by a tasting of the region’s wines.
